Re-living the 40’s

Sheringham’s annual 1940’s event came around again last weekend – where did the time go??

The whole town gets involved with shop window displays and re-enactors taking over the streets and stations.

This year was bigger than ever before with more people, more dances and on the Sunday all of us vintage folk marched through the town centre in a massive parade – it must admit it was very strange to walk along with the streets lined with people clapping and cheering!!!

I am always blown away to see so many people dress up in 40’s style outfits, and I love to travel on the steam trains it is such a romantic scene with men in uniform and women in furs and vintage frocks.

Here are just a few pictures for a fabulous 40’s weekend.  Now unfortunately it is back to reality and normal life (although I do still have a kinda vintage lifestyle everyday!!), but not seeing almost everyone walking around in uniform and vintage takes a day to get used too!!

Saturday evening outfit.
Suit Lulu’s Vintage, bag Taxi Vintage Norwich Market, shoes Lulu’s Vintage and fascinator Kitty Hats.

I wanted to drive away in this car!!!

So tiresome to get through the crowds for a ciggie so I went out the window!!!

The smallest dance floor ever!!!
