You know when the timing of some things can be totally right or totally wrong – a few years ago I was all set to launch a business selling vintage clothes with a friend but lets just say creative differences put an abrupt stop to that plan – we went our separate ways and the idea went on the back burner.
My passion for fashion also seemed to take a back seat as I embraced a full on 1940’s look to may everyday wardrobe, it took a life changing accident to bring me back full circle to my plan of years ago.
Meeting my partner in this new adventure Jo Green – fellow vintage addict, and the timing was this time totally right and The Stylist & The Collector was launched. The plan to sell vintage but with a fashion twist – taking inspiration from the current trends creating a new and modern way to wear vintage pieces.
Our first Pop Up Boutique happened last Friday at a great bar in Norwich – Platform 12 we wanted a glamourous event with cocktails, music and of course shopping. VIP ticket holders with cocktails in hand got a preview of our launch collection.
Once we got under way entertained by the tinkling of a piano in the corner of the bar, many outfits were tried on, more cocktails drunk and shopping done.
It is always scary when you start a new business especially one that involves selling – you know that you love what you have bought but then doubt sets in that others won’t love it to – but we had nothing to worry about it was a fabulous success!!
The next project is a photo shoot for our Spring Summer Look Book in the meantime you can follow our adventures and news of our next Pop Up Boutique on the Facebook page.
