Starting off the year as I mean to go on with more visits to London for fashion and other adventures my good friend Denise and I headed to the smoke again – this time we were off to Somerset House – which is the home of London Fashion Week for an exhibition that showcases the work of Sam McKnight – the session hairdresser who has created the most amazing hairstyles for models. celebrities and fashion editorials since the 70’s.
It was like walking through a time line of fashion with his styling for Westwood on mannequins wearing the most amazing pieces from her collections, on to Vogue and magazine covers, a section on Lady Diana and then videos and a collection from Chanel Haute Couture. And a few hair styling goals too!!
We snapped the obligatory outfit picture …..
Next stop of course was Harvey Nichols 5th Floor bar which has been a regular haunt for about 15 years as I was reminded of by the bar manager that my husband and I first met when he first started as a bar man!!
With the new seasons collections in the shops we had to take a visit to Harrods and the International Designer rooms to take a look at my obsession – that isn’t going away anytime soon – GUCCI!!
A walk along Sloane Street to the Kings Road with regular stops to window shop in the many designer boutiques along the route we rested our weary feet at a fabulous French bistro that was like stepping into a corner of old fashioned Paris – Colbert of Chelsea.
A touch of classic Paris in Chelsea.
Tired but inspired we headed back to the station for the train journey back to Norwich already planning out next fashion adventure.
